Blake is a very pretty woman, but she is not a Hollywood leading actress, and I'm not sure she'll ever be. She can turn out a capable supporting performance, as she showed in The Town. but she is not nearly ready to carry a movie. Being young and pretty is good enough for a teen show, which is designed to parade around slim figures in fashion outfits - that's why she was perfect for Gossip Girl. Savages, however, required something more substantial.
First of all, I don't understand why she had to be the narrator. Blake did it with monotonous, emotionless voice like she was reading a phone book. A very boring phone book, which she's already read at least twice before. Secondly, even though the character was very bland - a beach girl, who likes sex and weed, there were some scenes after the kidnapping where she could have at least tried to make us care. Why she was so special to those two guys, I'll never know. Love is blind and all that.
Current grade: 44. I don't see a very bright future here. She needs to find another TV-show, and fast.
