Argo (2012): Bryan Cranston

A decent supporting part for Bryan here, as a senior CIA officer responsible for the fugitive rescue operation in Iran. Nothing spectacular performance-wise, but competently played. It's a sizable part in a very successful movie, so good for Bryan. He even got to save the day a little :)

2012 overall has been very busy for Bryan with plenty of supporting parts in all kinds of movies. Not all of them were good, but that's exactly what he has to do in order to stay afloat after Breaking Bad ends next year. Nobody will start giving out leading roles just like that, no matter how popular you are on TV. Cinema is an entirely different animal, and you have to earn your audience from scratch, especially internationally.

I hope that he stays around for decades to come. Probably as a reliable supporting actor with an occasional leading role in an independent movie here and there.
